Deep Sky Astrophotography
A friend of mine donated her father’s retired rig - A Celestron Advanced VX mount equipped with a 10” f/4.9 Orion Astrograph OTA - and I’ve been putting it to good use. Everybody says start with a smaller refractor-style telescope, and the AVX mount is not really suited for astrophotgraphy, especially with heavy loads like this 10” OTA. But what the hey? This is what the universe gave me, so I am going to by darn best. And there is definitely method in the madness as I am figuring out this hand-me-down rig. So enjoy the photos, and appreciate that these are being done “the hard way” with about 100 lbs of equipment having to be set up each session.
